Seattle Symphony Media has announced the release of the unforgettable live recordings of Mahler’s Symphony No.10, performed by the Seattle Symphony under the baton of Principal Guest Conductor Thomas Dausgaard, as part of the 2015-16 Delta Airlines Masterworks Season.

Of the Mahler performance, Melinda Bargreen of The Seattle Times said, “It was impossible to be in the house and not realize that something rare and significant had taken place.”

Ms Bargreen continued, “The opportunity to hear the Tenth live, and at this level of quality, is not a chance to be missed.”

Thomas May of Bachtrack wrote of the performance, “Dausgaard inspired the musicians to sustain a high level of emotionally charged and technically refined playing throughout. Dausgaard is clearly a conductor who knows precisely the sonorities he’s after – and who knows how to motivate the musicians to reliably produce them.”

The Seattle Symphony has also announced the release of a live recording featuring Stravinsky’s Petrushka and Debussy’s La boîte à joujoux. Both recordings are to be released on June 10 and are available for pre-sale on iTunes and Amazon.
