From its humble beginnings as a chamber studio ensemble based in Edinburgh to the world-class symphony orchestra that it is today, The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra – soon to be led by Thomas Dausgaard – is to celebrate its 80th birthday. BBC Radio 3 will broadcast the 80th birthday concert, live from City Halls, on 3rd December 2015.
