Urs Mattenberger, writing in Neue Luzerner Zeitung, praises Thomas Dausgaard and Sinfoniorchester Lucerne’s December 2014 performance of Bruckner: Symphony No. 7.

He writes [translasted]: “From the beginning it was electric – the crisp pianissimi from the high strings, the vast thrusts of the brass, the bright colours of the woodwinds, the incoming waves asa remote song from the cellos: Dausgaard used his theatrical, singing language with such power [so the audience could feel] the lightning fast alternation between block monumentality and flowing resolution, and the voltage boring to even greater depths.”
