To celebrate the 150th birthday of Finland’s greatest composer, Jean Sibelius, the BBC World Service is broadcasting a performance of his most popular symphony.

Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2 in D Major will be performed by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by guest conductor Thomas Dausgaard.

The celebratory performance will be broadcast by BBC World Service at 19:06 local time on Saturday 5th September, and 12:06 local time on Sunday 6th September.
