ruedfestThomas Dausgaard thrilled audiences at the 2014 Rued Langgard Festival.  The annual event takes place each September in Ribe, Denmark, and celebrates his music as well as that of related 19th and 20th century composers. Dausgaard led the Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester (South Jutland Symphony Orchestra) “the year’s hottest programme” (Weekendavisen), featuring Langgaard’s Second Symphony and scenes from Richard Strauss’ Salome.  He was joined by sopranos Eva Johansson and Signe Asmussen and tenor Stig Fogh Andersen. Bo Maimburg writes in Uge Avisen: “With Thomas Dausgaard as conductor of the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra, we got it all. The tense yet fluid music. The constant change between storm and quiet – swiftly moving towards disaster absolute disaster. Great!”   Click here to listen to the full concert on DK.
